Loch Katrine and Devil’s Glen Phototrip PART 1
Ok, so there has been a significant gap between the last entry and now. It’s not that I haven’t been taking photographs! I just couldn’t find time to post them here. But I’ll make it up for You. I promise.
I think I should start from the last ones, ‘couse it’s still fresh. So last weekend, on saturday morning me and my friend went for some photo hunting. And for our destination we choose the west bank of Loch Katrine at sunrise. As You’ll se on the pictures it turned out to be a magical place, and it inspired us to explore one more site on our way back we knew of – The Devils Glen – which will be covered in PART TWO of this article.

We set off around 3.30am from Glasgow and headed north for The Trossachs National Park, where Loch Katrine is located – surrounded by high peaks and dense, ancient forests of Loch Katrine Forest. It’s only about 40-45 miles away, and we knew the sun rises around 6 at this time of year, so we had plenty of time.
The first thing we did, when we arrived was to explore a bit. So we walked through the main gate towards the pier(where we found The Lady of the Loch docked, but there is also a beautiful steamer Sir Walter Scott sitting there during the season. You can take a trip around the loch in any of them). So we walked by the lake for a while and waited for the sunrise(when the best light is), taking some shots casualy. And when the sun appeared over the rocks, at the near side of the loch, we knew it will be a good day with many brilliant photographs taken.

After a while we came across the bridge, and some fantastic stream, which gave us a great opportunity to do some blured water pictures.

Another couple of hudreds yards away there was another bridge across a channel built here in the mid 50’s. I again settled for a couple pictured with some longer exposure times to blur it nicely.

Then we decided to move back and capture some shapy rocks along the way in new, warm light of the sunrise. There were also some nice views across the loch with mountains(Ben Venue in particular)catching nice, and warm light.

End of PART One
I hope You enjoyed the pictures!
Cheers!
